Position: Quality Control Inspector

SUMMARY:  Compiles and maintain records of the business transactions activities and inspect the quality of fruit throughout our operations. Coordinates activities of workers engaged in packings

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs.

  • Inspects cartons from Pack area and records percentage of defects.
  • Inspects fruit at Wash line to ensure color separation meets criteria.
  • Conducts regular inspections at the juice belt, to ensure that only non-conforming fruit is being sent to juice.
  • Conducts routine fruit inspections of finished product in the shipping cooler.
  • Works with the Bagging/Specialty Supervisor to ensure all product meets our internal specifications.
  • Tabulates and posts data in record books (written and electronic).
  • Records orders for merchandise and service. Helps prepare stock inventory.
  • Gives information to customers, claimants, and employees.
  • Operates computer and/or machine panel to input, record, and retrieve data.
  • Notify management of product defects and any product out of grade specifications.
  • Recommend modifications of existing quality or production standards to achieve optimum quality with limits.
  • Help in the development and continuous improvement of the quality control program.
  • Establishes a working relationship with all Sunkist inspectors to ensure all products meet Sunkist specifications.
  • Investigates, conducts root cause analysis, and follows up on safety risks to proactively sustaining a safe work environment.
  • Conducts operations in a manner which promotes work safety and complies with Cal/OSHA standards, to include wearing all PPE.
  • Adhere to Food Safety, GMP’s, and other safety compliance policies.
  • Work assigned shift to include up to 6 days per week.
  • Keep work environment clean, positive, and free of harassment.
  • Demonstrate reliable/consistent attendance and punctuality and a positive attitude.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
